Welcome to our peaceful family run Prospect Farm Camping & Caravan Park nestling on the edge of the North York Moor. This is the only site actually within the famously beautiful chocolate box village of Thornton Le Dale (just two minutes walk). We pride ourselves on being family friendly and want you to enjoy your holiday within this peaceful small holding. Come and say hello to the pure breed chickens. A dog walk into the adjacent woods is just minutes away. Enjoy the paddock with its beautiful views of the village and surrounding hills. It is a short walk to Manthorpe Playing Field where children can enjoy a large playground complete with 5-a-side/basketball area and skate/bike park. Dalby Forest is only a short distance away, and offers open air music venue and world class mountain biking trails.   Take time to walk around the village or take one of the many local walks along the beck-side, by the village green, lake and woods.   In the evening wander into the village and unwind in one of our two local pubs in the village. An ideal base to visit local attractions such as the North Yorks Moor railway at Pickering and the beach at Whitby. Thornton Le Dale is a lovely place with some interesting shops and a couple of decent pubs offering good food at reasonable prices. The site was well laid out with flat pitches and an excellent shower block, but the biggest plus is the amount of grass available for the kids to play on without having to worry about disturbing the peace of other users. All in all a great weekend and we are sure to visit again.
